Temporary Closure of Church Street Footpath

As work on the development of Barnsley College’s new build continues the adjacent footpath on Church Street will be closed. The footpath, due to be closed for 8 weeks, will help create a lay-by for construction traffic and enable the access of the delivery of the tower crane.

Andrew Fairest, Director of New Build said: “This is a really exciting time for us and the building is making great progress, but we must make sure that health and safety comes first.  For your own safety, I would ask that everyone uses the alternative pedestrian route around the footpath.  Access to Old Mill Lane site is available for College students, staff and visitors through the B block basement corridor. The plans are available here.
