Art and Design Students Visit the Big Apple

Over 40 Barnsley College Art and Design students visited New York City this spring for their annual enrichment visit to The Big Apple.

Head of Art and Design Terry Turnbull said the visit was a great success despite some delays and bad weather, which included some of the worst snow blizzards in the last 50 years!
“The students deserve great credit and were brilliant ambassadors for the College. They were all very patient and understanding of the weather conditions, the visit to Chinatown and Little Italy was similar to a visit to Siberia given the snowfalls.
The visit not only enhanced the students’ awareness of ethnic and cultural differences in one of the world’s largest cities, but acted as a major catalyst for their own individual art folios and future aspirations. They are already banging on my door to plan next year’s trip."

The photograph shows the students enjoying the views of the city whilst taking in the atmosphere of Central Park.
