Business and Management Students Celebrate Volunteering Success!

Business and Management Students with their certificates

Students at Barnsley College were celebrating this week after collecting certificates for their volunteering work. The 14 students had worked on a number of volunteering projects and each has contributed at least 50 hours of their time to help out in the community.

Projects included work with the Christmas Lights switch on a Crystal Peaks where students helped customers by explaining all about the toy appeal. They also got involved with Sheffield Wheel and Tony Christie helping to distribute promotional material.
One of the main events organised by the group was a charity auction at Barnsley Football Club. The students managed to get Fosters Bakery to sponsor the auction and donate £300. IN addition, they also managed to get B&Q involved and they donated a variety of products o the auction. The students worked extremely hard to ensure the event was a success and brought in Hallam FM DJ Ed Nell to compere the auction.
The students took part in a variety of other fundraising activities and they have really enjoyed helping out in the community. The qualification and certificate was awarded through Vinvolved based at The Core in Barnsley.
