Entry Requirements
- 5 GCSEs at Grade A* to C including English and preferably Art or a portfolio of artwork where appropriate to demonstrate suitability
Plus Good personal reference demonstrating acceptable level of attendance and commitment to hard work
Course Content
(you gain an AS level after successfully completing Year 1, you will be awarded a full A level after successfully completing Year 2)
Year 1
This course consists of four units over two years. The first unit requires the development of a coursework portfolio exemplifying work carried out during the AS course including the following: Painting, Drawing and Mixed Media (including assemblage and collage), Sculpture, Construction, Printmaking, Relief, Intaglio, Screen Processes and Lithography
Year 2
In the second year students must produce a personal investigation in which candidates develop work in response to ideas, an issue, concept or theme of their choice. Unit includes 1000-3000 words supporting visual outcomes
NB: This is an Art A Level and cannot be taken alongside A Level Graphic Design

You can go on to study fine art or other art related degrees at university. Possible careers include, Fine Artist, Art Related Designer, Art and Design Teacher, Art Therapist, Curator
