- Level 2 Award Follow Health and Safety practices in the workplace or equivalent
- Initial assessment of level 1 or above
- A general interest in Beauty Therapy
Students will normally take part in an interview prior to being enrolled on the programme.
* This course makes up the Level 2 NVQ in Beauty Therapy or can be studied individually

Where, When and how will I study?
The Level 2 programme is a 8 week course and will begin on Wednesday 4th January 2012 or Wednesday 2nd May 2012. You will study 3 hours a week 6pm to 9pm in the Hair and Beauty Department.
What subject areas will I study?
The programme is a preparation for work course and based on capability and knowledge. The course will include:
- Preparation and application of individual permanent lashes
- Health and safety
- Consultation & aftercare advice
- Contra-indications/ contra actions to treatment
- Science to include skin structure/ function, hair structure/function and the hair growth cycle
What equipment will I need?
You will be informed on the open evening / enrolment of the equipment costs for you to purchase. Equipment required:
Uniform
Specialized Tweezers
Headband & hat
False eyelash kit
Orangewood sticks
You will also be required to bring stationary to each lesson such as pens, pencils, A4 paper and folder.
How will I be assessed?
During and at the end of the course you will be assessed both in practical and written. At the end of the programme there will be an online test. Both practical and online assessment must be achieved to gain the qualification.
What qualifications might I achieve?
Level 3 Award in semi-permanent lashes (City and Guilds)

- Level 3 Award Provide massage
