When and how will I study?

This programme will commence in September  and can be studied on a 2 year basis 

Study is classroom-based with practical hands-on experience in the workshop, presentations and group work.

What subject areas will I study?

You will study the following areas:

• Practical and Related Job Knowledge
• Brick and Block Walling
• Supplementary Brick and Blockwork
• Site Drainage
• Bricklaying
• Setting out Elementary Building
• Concreting
• Contributing to the Provision of Effective Working Practices
• Repair Structural Components e.g. repair and maintenance stonework
• Functional skills

What equipment will I need? 

You will require writing materials, a ring binder and suitable clothing/ footwear.

How will I be assessed?

Throughout the programme, practical work and related job knowledge are studied and accredited on a unit basis, towards gaining a Diploma in your chosen craft.  To gain a Diploma for a practical skill or trade, you are required to demonstrate satisfactorily to an assessor that you are able to carry out the necessary task to an industry acceptable standard.

What qualification might I achieve?

Brickwork Construction Diploma Level 2 (Technical Certificate)

Where can I go from here?

On completion of this programme, you may wish to progress on to Level 3 or Employment
