Entry Requirements
You need a Construction Diploma/NVQ Level 2 in Brickwork to progress onto this course.
This course is aimed at people who are working within the brickwork/construction industry who wish to go down the diploma route. It is especially beneficial for people who wish to work/are working on building sites.

When and how will I study?
This programme will commence in September, will run on a Thursday and can be studied on a 1 year basis.
Study is classroom-based with practical hands-on experience in the workshop, presentations and group work.
What subject areas will I study?
You will study the following areas:
Arches and radius work
- Decorative patterns
- Complete settings with chimneys and flues
What equipment will I need?
You will require writing materials, a ring binder and suitable clothing/ footwear.
How will I be assessed?
Throughout the programme, practical work and related job knowledge are studied and accredited on a unit basis, towards gaining a Diploma in your chosen craft. To gain a Diploma for a practical skill or trade, you are required to demonstrate satisfactorily to an assessor that you are able to carry out the necessary task to an industry acceptable standard.
What qualification might I achieve?
Brickwork Construction Diploma Level 3 (Technical Certificate)
16 – 18 year olds
Full-time Barnsley College student’s 16-18 years old do not have to pay tuition fees unless the course is listed as FULL FEE PAYABLE.
19+ Students
