Where, When and how will I study?

This course is offered twice yearly (September & January) and will be taught at the Old Mill Lane site of Barnsley College, on Monday’s between 6pm – 8pm for 15 weeks.

What will I study?

The course is aimed primarily at adults wishing to gain confidence and extending their knowledge of ceramics and those who are considering applying for a future adult offer in further and higher education.

The course however is not exclusive for those wishing to progress to higher education but is also for those who simply enjoy the creative freedom of this discipline.

The student will be shown over a 15 week period (2 hours a week) a variety of techniques and a basic introduction to ceramics and pottery which will enable them to improve and develop their skills in producing their own personal ceramic art and craftwork. This will include an introduction to different techniques utilised within this discipline and will include working with both clay and ceramic materials in the specialised college workshop. 

After completion of the course there may be the opportunity to enrol onto an intermediate course (15 weeks) or a diploma course (1 year minimum). 

Programme costs

The course will cost a total of £250 (FULL FEE PAYABLE) 

*Fee remission or reduced fees are not available on full fee payable courses.
