Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at Grade A* to C including English Language
or Level 2 Apprenticeship in Children's Care, Learning and Development or Full-time Level 2 Childcare qualification
plus Employed or written offer of employment in childcare
All students on this programme will be subject to a satisfactory CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) check.
Course Content
The programme is offered as an Apprenticeship and involves on the job training in a childcare environment, an assessment in the workplace and attendance at workshop sessions in College. You will achieve an NVQ Level 3. You will learn how to:
- Design educational and recreational activities
- Avoid conflicts and handle difficult situations
- Understand the unique relationship between childcare workers and children in their care

Employment - This course can form the foundations for future study and work in the childcare sector
Education - You could continue with higher level qualifications, including; Level 4 NVQ Children's Care, Learning and Development
