Course Content
On this course you will study a Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing. It will provide you with a competence-based training route to qualify as a dental nurse. You will gain transferable skills, experience in a dental practice and training in the chosen occupational area. Units studied include:
- Offering information and support to individuals on the protection of their oral health
- Production of dental images
- Providing chair side support during the assessments and non-surgical endodontic treatment including the provision of fixed and removable prostheses
- Providing chair side support during the extraction of teeth and minor oral surgery
- Principles of infection control in the dental environment
- Assessment of oral health and treatment planning
- Dental radiography
What can I do next?
Employment – This course can form the foundations for future work in specialist dental nursing roles, dental hygiene or therapy, dental technology, teaching dental nursing or dental practice management.
Education - On completion of this qualification you may wish to progress on to higher level qualifications in this area.
