Entry Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade A* to C including English Language and Drama
    plus Theatre related experience e.g. regulartheatre trips, school plays or youth theatre
    plus You will be required to pass an audition
    plus Good personal reference demonstrating acceptable level of attendance and
    commitment to hard work

Course Content

You gain an AS Level after successfully completing Year 1, you will be awarded a full A
Level after successfully completing Year 2.

Year 1

This course will introduce candidates to; text into performance and approaches to
text. A formal exam question relating to productions candidates have experienced willbe the year’s assessment.

Year 2

Candidates will in this year be given the opportunity to create their own work, in devise a drama. They will also explore theory into practice, looking at the work of a practitioner. There will be a formal
examination on a set text.

Assessment:

Written and practical coursework

Progression

Students can progress to a range of universities and accredited drama schools or
follow career paths in Journalism, Advertising and Film and TV.

What subjects can I study alongside this course?

This course is an excellent accompaniment for subjects such as Art, Music and Dance
but would also complement a range of other subjects.
