What subject areas will I study?
The programme is a preparation for work course. It is based on capability and knowledge. The course will include:
- Improving and maintaining skin:
- Superficial and deep cleanse
- Exfoliation
- Steaming
- Comedone extraction
- Facial massage
- Face mask application
- The use of facial products
- Health and safety
- Consultation & aftercare advice
- Science to include skin structure, function, bones and muscles of the face and shoulder girdle
What equipment will I need?
You will be informed on the open evening / enrolment of the equipment costs for you to purchase. Equipment required:
Headband and hat
Mask brush
Mask sponges
Uniform
You will also be required to bring stationery to each lesson such as pens, pencils, A4 paper and folder.
How will I be assessed?
Practical and written assessments will take place throughout the course. At the end of the programme there will be an online test.
Both the practical and the online assessment must be achieved to gain the qualification.
What qualifications might I achieve?
Level 2 Award: Provide facial skin care
