What subject areas will I study?
This course is for Level 2 learners wishing to develop their hairdressing career further. The course covers many aspects of advanced hairdressing, including cutting, colour correction, hair extensions, dressing long hair.
Learners will also complete a functional skills qualification which is embedded into the programme. This will develop numeracy, literacy and ICT skills. Learners will take part in various competitions in and out of the college which will then open up more job opportunities upon completion.

Test papers to complete throughout the course
Practical Assessments to complete for each unit.

Hairdressing NVQ Level 3
Where can I go from here?
Progression to employment – e.g working in a salon. Many other routes available – cruise ships, spa hotels.
Programme Costs
16 – 18 year olds
Full-time Barnsley College student’s 16-18 years old do not have to pay tuition fees.
Student Finance
The College has Access Funds that may assist students with expenses such as travel, books, equipment, and child care. Applications for assistance should be made to Student Services and will be dealt with on an individual basis.
