Entry Requirements
There are no formal qualifications for this award; however you must be a volunteer with some knowledge and experience in care, or currently employed in a care environment working with and caring for adults in a senior role. Initial assessments for Numeracy & Literacy will take place on application to the course.
Students will normally take part in an interview prior to being enrolled on the programme.

Where, When and how will I study?
Learners can usually complete in 1 year. You will be given a named assessor who will assess you in the workplace on a regular basis throughout the course. Appointment sessions will be available in the college for guidance & support and professional discussions, to support and monitor your progress.
What subject areas will I study?
Core Mandatory Units: 28 credits
SHC 31: Promote communication in health, social care or children and young peoples setting
SHC 32: Engage in personal development in health, social care or children and young peoples setting
SHC 33: Promote in equality and inclusion in health, social care or children and young peoples setting
SHC 34: Principles for implementing duty of care in health, social care or children and young peoples setting
HSC 024: Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care
HSC 025: The role of the health and social care worker
HSC 036: Promote person centred approaches in health and social care
HSC 037: Promote and implement health and safety in health and social care
HSC 038: Promote good practice in handling information in health and social care settings
Optional Units: 30 credits
You will choose from a variety of optional unit depending on your own role & responsibility in the workplace. These will build up the remaining credits to achieve the full L3 Diploma.
What equipment will I need?
You will be required to provide paper, writing materials, A4 ring binder file, extra wide dividers and clear plastic wallets. A copy of the standard handbook will be provided and given to you by your assessor on the first visit.
How will I be assessed?
Through Work based Assessments in your work placement and various evidence methods throughout the programme, building up a portfolio.

Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults)

Level 5 QCF qualification for management or senior roles in health and social care
