2 GCSEs at Grade A* to Dand English Language at Grade A* to E
plus Employed or written offer of employment in horticulture
plus Must enjoy outdoor work in all weathers, keen interest in Horticulture
Course Content
The course is offered on the condition of a suitable work placement within the Horticultural industry. You will be required to attend College one day per week. The majority of the practical based activity will take place in your working environment. You will also be required to complete the following additional elements: Emergency First Aid Training and NPTC Spraying Certificate PA1 and PA6A plus an LANTRA employees responsibility workbook. This course can be studied through one of four options:
- Sportsturf, greenkeeper or groundsperson
- Parks and gardens
- Landscaping
- Production horticulture
What can I do next?
Employment – Learners can set up their own business or find suitable employment within the industry as a Landscaper, Gardener, Estate Worker, and Nursery Production Operative.
Education – On successful completion of this course you can move onto Extended Diploma programmes, or an Advanced Apprenticeship programme.
