This programme, based at Wigfield Farm, allows learners to gain practical experience of working in the Horticulture industry. With a mixture of hands on and classroom learning you will develop the skills and knowledge required to start your career within this industry. Areas of study include:
- Recognise plants, parts of plants and tools
- Prepare, plant, weed and water an area or container
- Maintain a fence
- Harvest a crop
- Edge up an amenity area
- Construct a composter and shred waste vegetation

Employment – This course can lead to assisted work in the Horticulture industry.
Education – You could progress to higher level qualifications with the College; we offer a Level 1 NVQ in Horticulture.
