Course Content
As well as investigating and studying the theory behind the hospitality industry you will also learn practical skills in housekeeping, front of house operations and customer service. You will study food preparation and cooking, including contemporary cuisine, as well as table and bar service as well as specialist units in planning and running an event and nutrition and special dietary needs. There are opportunities for industry visits, residential trips and work placements. You will also achieve:
• ABC Certificate in Pâtisserie and Confectionery
• CIEH Award in Food Safety
• C&G Award in Barista Skills
What can I do next?
Employment - The skills you acquire on this course could provide the foundations for a job as a Waiter/Waitress, Kitchen Staff, Chef or Bar Staff.
Education - You could progress to other study options including; Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality or the Level 2 Craft Catering Programme.
