What subject areas will I study?
The programme is a preparation for work course and is based on capability and knowledge. The course will include:
- Application of Day, Evening & Special Occasion make-up
- Skin analysis to identify skin types and conditions
- Health and safety
- Consultation & aftercare advice
- Contra-indications/ contra actions to treatment
- Science to include skin structure, function, bones, muscles, blood, lymph to the face, neck and shoulder
What equipment will I need?
You will be informed on the open evening / enrolment of the cost for the equipment.
Equipment required:
- Uniform
- Plastic spatulas
- Mask sponges
- Make-up gown
- Make up kit
- Headband and Hat
- Make up palette
- Make up wedges
You will also be required to bring stationery to each lesson such as pens, pencils, A4 paper and folder.
How will I be assessed?
Practical and written assessments will take place throughout the course. At the end of the programme there will be an online test.
Both the practical and the online assessment must be achieved to gain the qualification.
What qualifications might I achieve?
City and Guilds Award in Make-up Level 2
