Entry Requirements

Level 1 Introduction to Sports Massage, a Level 2 Fitness-based qualification or equivalent is desirable. It is expected that candidates will have a keen interest in sports massage as well as a sound understanding of functional anatomy and physiology.

How will the course be delivered?

A variety of flexible delivery strategies will be used to accommodate individual needs.

  • Plan, prepare for and apply a range of sports massage methods to uninjured clients

  • Essential health, safety and hygiene principles

Guided Learning Hours

The course is delivered for 2 evenings per week (3 hours) over a 13 week period.

Assessments

Primary assessments will involve a multiple choice external anatomy and physiology exam, an external practical observation with verbal questioning and case studies.

Course Fees

This course is full fee payable and will cost £500.  This includes tuition fees and use of couches, towels, oils and wipes. Candidates can either pay their own fees or be sponsored by their employer. Payment in installations is possible, for further information please see contact below. 

Progression

This certificate enables successful candidates to conduct Level 3 Sports Massage Therapy in the sports and active leisure industry - Gym, Health Clubs, Sporting facilities or Spas. Once learners have achieved the ITEC Level 3 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy they may progress on to other ITEC or equivalent awards at Level 3 or Level 4.
