Start Date / Duration

You can start this course anytime during the year. There will be monthly classes you can attend in person which run on a Friday 9.30am-12.30pm. The course takes 40 weeks to complete.

Entry requirements

Successful interview. The purpose of this interview is to review the entry profile of qualifications and/or experience held by applicant, and to establish whether this profile shows the ability to successfully complete the programme of study.
Ideally you should have a degree, HNC/D or a Level 5/6 qualification in a related subject (Business or Management) and relevant work experience.

You will achieve

Edexcel Level 7 Strategic Management and Leadership Diploma or Extended Diploma.

Course content

The course is ideal for managers seeking to develop the skills they need to be a confident and effective leader at this level, and understand the principles and practice of strategic leadership. There is a strong emphasis on practical skills development alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding. Study methods will include lectures, individual and group work, discussion, problem-solving and case studies.

The course has a credit value of 120 and consists of the following units:

A range of appropriate assessment methods will be used, examples of which are: work related written assignments (typically 5000 words max), presentations (individual and group) and personal reflection. Guidance will be given throughout the programme to assist you.

You will be required to provide paper, writing materials, A4 ring binder file, extra wide dividers.

You may need to attend classes at our Old Mill Lane campus or online.

A number of students who have successfully completed the programme have subsequently continued their studies and achieved Masters level qualifications. Entry onto these qualifications is subject to each individual university entry requirements, for their Masters programmes.
