What subject areas will I study?

This qualification focuses on the knowledge and skills required to perform basic arc welding operations. Upon successful completion of this qualification, candidates can apply for the Licence to Practice photo card issued by The Welding Institute (TWI).

TWI’s qualifications are recognised in the UK and throughout the world, and therefore the Licence to Practice could be a passport to gaining and securing employment in welding engineering

What equipment will I need?

Students are required to bring their own safety boots and overalls. All other safety equipment is supplied.

How will I be assessed?

This qualification focuses on the knowledge and skills required to perform basic arc welding operations

Level 1 qualification in Welding ( arc)

Level 2 certificate in Welding ( Shift Welding)

16 – 18 year olds

Full-time Barnsley College student’s 16-18 years old do not have to pay tuition fees unless the course is listed as FULL FEE PAYABLE.
