Pre-Employment Training Programmes

Barnsley College provides sector specific pre-employment training programmes supporting people to gain the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to succeed in a range of industry sectors.

Recruitment

Barnsley College works with Jobcentre Plus to get people who have been unemployed for 6 months or longer, back into employment. We can assist your organisation with its recruitment through the use of customised pre-employment training programmes. Our learners are over 18 and are looking to secure employment.

Employ An Apprentice

Apprenticeships are a cost effective way for you to develop highly skilled, productive and loyal employees. If you have a gap in your workforce that could be filled by an Apprentice or you have existing staff that could qualify for an Apprenticeship and would like to have their skills certificated, we can work with you and them to make it happen.

Apprenticeship Grant

You could receive a grant of £1,500
if you employ an Apprentice aged 16-24

Redundancy and Support

In light of the recent economic downturn, you may be in the position that you are making your staff redundant. We can work with your existing employees free of charge to retrain those under threat of redundancy so that they can fill other vacancies.

Are you at risk of redundancy or newly redundant?

If you are at risk or redundancy or recently been made redundant, we can help you to gain specific skills and qualifications at no cost to you.
