Barnsley College Sports Student Makes North East Rugby Squad1 Mar 2011

Sports Student Marlon Wragg has successfully made it though the second round of the British Colleges Sport National Rugby Squad Trials, where he will now represent the North East.

Marlon, currently studying an OCR Level 3 in Sport, was one of 40 learners from 8 different College’s in the North East including Darlington Queen Elizabeth and Gateshead to try out. Alongside his College course, Marlon also plays College’s Rugby Union First Team and in his spare time coaches the Barnsley under 18 girls team.

The next round, where the North East team will play the North West, will determine which players will represent the North of England.

The final round, which will take place in December, will be to decide which students will make the final U19’s National England Rugby Union Squad.
