2Fill in our Application Form In order to apply for the course you are interested in, you must then download, print and fill in our application form and then send it back to us a long with your qualifications (certificates), copy of your passport and other items listed here. 3Review and Conditional Offer Once we recieve your application it will then be reviewed. If it is successful, you will then recieve a conditional offer. This means you will be sent a student offer letter and an information pack with full details of the course. Included in the pack will also be an Offer of Acceptance form, accommodation information and guidance on how to apply for a Tier 4 student visa. Read more »
4Payment of deposit When you have received your offer letter you will need to send us either your full course fees or the deposit of 50% of the course fees. Once we have received your deposit our international team will issue you with a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) statement. You will need a CAS number to submit your visa application to the UK Border Agency. Read more »
5Apply for your Student Visa After paying your deposit, you are then required to apply for your Student Visa. Please read the section below for more information, the information provided is based on Tier 4 requirements of the Points Based Systems. Barnsley College is a UKBA Tier 4 sponsor and will issue a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) number to all students given an unconditional offer. The International Team can help you with your visa application.
If you are in the UK and wish to visit the College, we will be happy to provide you with an escorted tour of the College and its facilities.
Applying for a Visa
The first stage of applying for a visa is to get a “Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies” (or CAS for short), Barnsley College will issue this to you. It will be a 14 digit reference number, which is unique to you.
When you fill in your UK Border Agency (UKBA) visa application form you will be prompted to enter this CAS reference number.
International Students can apply for a visa up to 3 months before their course is due to start. For more information and advice about applying for study in the UK under Tier 4 please visit the UKBA/ Home Office website.

Funding and Paying for you Education
You must have a minimum level of funds to cover your course fees and support yourself during your time in the UK. You should refer to the Immigration Rules and the Tier 4 Policy Guidance for clarification regarding this, failure to have sufficient funds or other form of sponsorship will mean that your VISA application will be refused.
For courses at Barnsley College, current UKBA guidance requires that you must have £800** per month to cover maintenance in the UK (up to a maximum of 9 months).

** This figure applies to a two semester academic year from January to January or from September to June.
How to Pay
As soon as you have submitted your Offer of Acceptance to enrol on a course at Barnsley College you will be required to pay a deposit of 50% of your course fees before we can issue a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) number.
This can be done by using Pay to Study which is an easy to use online payment system which facilitates international transfers. The service offers a secure and fast way to send payments and users do not incur the sending or receiving fees imposed by banks.

You will be required to pay the remaining amount of your course fees before your enrolment day at Barnsley College and present proof of payment.

Your deposit will only be partially refundable in case of a visa refusal and we require original documentation from the British Embassy or High Commission Office concerned.
An administration fee of £100 will be retained to cover college administration costs and the remaining refund will be made to the student.

- Attach certified copies of academic transcripts and exam results (with certified translations if not in English)
- Copy of your passport front cover and biometric/photograph page with passport number
- Passport sized photograph
- Evidence of your English Language capability, applicants must be able to demonstrate competence in English language equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (in accordance with current UKBA regulations) or TOEFL 550 (paper based), or TOEFL 80 (internet based) is required.
Please note without these documents we will not be able to process your application and this will result in delays.
