New Developments

You may have heard that Barnsley College is undergoing a massive redevelopment, with many superb new facilities already available to our students. Work on the multi-million pound construction of a fantastic new building is well under way, which will be the main campus at Old Mill Lane. This will provide the area with a state-of-the-art learning environment we can all be proud of. 

The fantastic facilities, workshops and IT resources will come together to provide a superb learning experience that can be tailored to the different needs of each individual in our student population. Barnsley College Principal, Colin Booth said,“We are absolutely delighted at being able to provide a fantastic 21st century building for the town of Barnsley combined with excellent teaching and learning. We have a College to be proud of, evidenced again by the increased success rates of our students. With the addition of superb buildings we are well on track to become an outstanding College in the very near future.The new Old Mill Lane building will mean we can look forward with confidence in our facilities for post-16 education and training for young people, adults and the business community for many years to come.”.

Work has also begun on the Think Low Carbon (TLC) Centre which will be another fantastic facility which aims to create an internationally recognised centre of excellence in low carbon innovation. The project will facilitate research and development skills for environmental technologies, enabling businesses to exploit emerging markets in this sector
