E-Resources Relevant to Your Course

Barnsley College has lots of databases, e-books and e-journals to help with your studies. To log on you will need your College username and password. Some resources will ask you to choose Barnsley College from an A-Z list of institutions.

BIAZA British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquarium

BMC Veterinary Research an open access, peer-reviewed journal that considers articles on all aspects of veterinary science and medicine, including the epidemiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of medical conditions of domestic, companion, farm and wild animals, as well as the biomedical processes that underlie their health.

BMC Zoology an open access, peer-reviewed journal that considers articles on all aspects of zoology, including comparative physiology, mechanistic and functional studies, morphology, life history, animal behavior, signaling and communication, cognition, parasitism, systematics, biogeography and conservation.

Brown’s E-Books is a collection of academic textbooks from Barnsley College reading lists, available online.

BSAVA British Small Animal Veterinary Association

Business Source Elite is a database that has access to full text articles on finance, management, and marketing.

Current Zoology an open access, bimonthly, peer-reviewed international journal of zoology. It publishes review articles and research papers in the fields of ecology, evolution and behaviour.

Defra Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs

Directory of Open Access Journals provides access to over 18,000 high quality, peer reviewed multidisciplinary ejournals offering freely available academic articles.

Ebook Central Ebooks covering a range of subjects including business, childcare, education, fine arts, health, IT, social work, sport and tourism.

Environment Complete offers deep coverage in the areas of agriculture, ecosystem ecology, energy, and affiliated areas of study.

Frontiers in Zoology an open access, peer-reviewed online journal publishing high quality research articles and reviews on all aspects of animal life.

SAGE Journals a collection of academic journals in the social sciences including animal care.
