Meet the Staff

 

Ethan Wareing – Sports Centre Manager

“I have worked in the fitness industry for 4 years. I’m a qualified spin and kettlebells instructor, as well as a personal trainer. The staff and clients at the Sports Village are great members of the community and I’m excited to work alongside you all and support you with the challenges you face with your fitness goals.”

 

Sharleigh Osbourn – Sports Facility Supervisor

“I have worked at the sports village for 3 years and studied sport and exercise science at Barnsley College. Whilst on my apprenticeship I completed my level 3 personal training while also doing my level 3 community sport and health officer qualification. I have also danced since the age of 1, showing my interest in sport and keeping fit.”

 

James Thornton – Sports Facility Supervisor

“I have been involved in sport and fitness since I was young, progressing my knowledge and skills over the years. Delivering a variety of classes here at the Sports Village has enabled me to work diligently with a wide range of clients, advising and motivating them along their fitness journey.”

 

Tommy Taylor – Sports Facility Supervisor

“I have been involved in sporting and fitness since a very young age, playing all sports. Currently a manager of Penistone Church U16’s, I have developed a passion for football coaching. I studied sports fitness and coaching at college and progressed onto my level 2 community activator coach and level 3 health officer apprenticeship courses. I look forward to learning new skills, meeting all the members and hopefully passing on some knowledge and experience to help others.”

 

Paul Rhodes – Sports Facility Supervisor

“I have been in the fitness industry for 10 years. Spending time getting young people into sport and exercise. I enjoy being involved in community projects helping people any way I can.”

 

Liz Riley – Sports Facility Supervisor

“I have over 30 year experience in the customer service industry, I am a level 3 qualified fitness instructor with a background in dance and martial arts. I also have qualifications in exercise to music, kettlebells, circuit training and Zumba.”

Alex Mellor – Sports Facility Apprentice

“Playing rugby from a young age all the way up to my teen years! I wanted to change my mind a little and focus more on training in the gym and helping people change their bodies and mindset towards the gym so they get the best experience helping people stay fit and healthy is important to me and I love doing it.”

Luke Jones – Sports Facility Apprentice

“I am currently studying towards my level 2 community activator coaching qualification. I have been interested in fitness since a young age and want to help people with their knowledge in the gym.”

Freya Paddon – Sports Facility Apprentice

“I am currently studying for my level 2 community activator coach qualification. I have been involved in sport and fitness since a very young age taking part in athletics and netball which I still currently play. I am excited to get involved in more classes, meet new people and help motivate members during their fitness journey to better themselves.”
