Barnsley College is celebrating the launch of a new childcare apprenticeship by inviting employers from schools and nurseries to an Open Evening on Tuesday 24 May 2016.
The college is now offering Level 2 and 3 Playwork Apprenticeships alongside its other apprenticeship pathways in Children and Young People’s Workforce, Early Years and Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
In order to promote the new apprenticeship, the college is inviting employers across the region to take part in the event at the Old Mill Lane Campus. Attendees will be able to learn about the range of apprenticeships available from the college as well as be able to talk to our Employer Engagement team about the options available for their business.
The event will run from 4.30pm – 6.00pm and will be held at the college’s campus on Old Mill Lane, Barnsley, S70 2YW.
Jenny Gedlek, head of the Work Based Learning department, said: “We are pleased to be developing the range of childcare courses we provide within the College. The Open Evening gives schools and nurseries the opportunity to learn more about how an apprentice can benefit them, whether that is by recruiting a new member of staff or allowing a current staff member to gain extra qualifications.”
The college offers over 80 apprenticeship frameworks from Business Administration to Catering to Management. They also offer a range of short courses, including Paediatric First Aid, which are invaluable to the ongoing development of staff.
