Barnsley College students will soon be appearing in a range of popular videos and learning materials produced by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).
Students taking Performing Arts and Film and Television courses were selected to take part in auditions to appear in YouTube videos and print and online publications as part of an initiative to help the DVSA engage with young drivers.
The students will appear on the GOV.UK website and YouTube as well as in print publications and informative video clips, photographs and profiles to help learner drivers who are preparing for their driving test. The DVSA also plans to include students in script development for videos.
Performing Arts student Joe Dodgson, 20, said: “This is a really exciting opportunity as most of my studies are based around stage acting so it will help me to gain a broader range of skills.
“The audition was a great experience and will enhance university applications and my CV.”
Sarah Scott, Deputy Head of Publishing at the DVSA, added: “We approached Barnsley College as it has an outstanding reputation and we were looking for students to help engage with new young drivers. It has been great to speak with the students and they were a credit to the college.”
