Barnsley College website commended in national awards

We have received recognition for our redesigned website at The College Marketing Network’s FE First Awards 2017.

The college was highly commended in the Website Development category at the awards ceremony which was held during the College Marketing Network’s 30th Annual Conference. They recognise and celebrate the best in college marketing.

Our new website was launched in 2016, developed by college staff and Genius Division, a Barnsley-based branding and digital agency. Two of the directors of Genius Division, James Sheriff and Richard Keys, are former Barnsley College students.

This award acknowledges the effort put into this project and we are proud that we can now say we have an award-winning website.

Christopher Webb, Principal and Chief Executive of Barnsley College said: “When redesigning our website we wanted to provide the best online experience for our students, staff and stakeholders. Working with Genius Division enabled us to start from scratch and showcase the fantastic things happening in college on a dynamic, mobile responsive website. We were delighted to be able to work with a business owned by former Barnsley College students too. This award acknowledges the effort put into this project and we are proud that we can now say we have an award-winning website.”

Rachel Smith, Chief Executive of the College Marketing Network added: “The judges were impressed with the calibre of the entries in this category. The Highly Commended Award was given to an organisation that set measurable targets directly related to online enquiries and applications and talked directly to their target audience. Once the site was live, they continued to gather feedback and to make improvements – and they exceeded their initial targets.”
