Our Catering and Hospitality students organised a “Curry and Chaat” evening to raise money for National Mental Health Awareness Week 2018.
The students aimed for the public to get together with friends and enjoy a delicious curry whilst raising awareness of mental health, creating a world with good mental health for a less stressed nation.
Staff and students had to prepare, cook and serve traditional curry dishes including Chicken Jalfrezi, Goan Fish Curry and Butternut Squash, Chickpea and Spinach Bhuna. The food was made in industry-standard kitchens at the College.
Catering course leader, Martyn Hollingsworth, said: “It was exciting and a lot of fun to make the dishes. The event was fantastic and the students were amazing. Hopefully we have made a difference to many, as National Mental Health Awareness Week is a great cause.”
