If you want to apply for a place at Barnsley College Higher Education through Clearing, call 01226 216 106 and our friendly team will be able to help.
What is Clearing?
Clearing is a UCAS service that gives students without offers a second chance to pursue Higher Education and also allows us to fill spaces on courses that aren’t yet full.
If you’ve already decided you want to apply to study a university-level course in September 2022, but missed the UCAS deadline, then it’s not too late to apply.
From Tuesday 5 July – Tuesday 18 October, you can apply for a course using Clearing. To be eligible, you can’t hold an offer from a university or college already, and the course still has to have places available.

Clearing Top Tips
No need to panic!
There is no need to panic during Clearing. Grab a pen and some paper and write down exactly what you’re going to do when you get those results through. Check out our Clearing page where we publish all the information we have available. It is always good to talk about your action plan before A Levels results day with your parent, tutor or a friend.
Be prepared for Clearing
It is important to be prepared before you phone us, so make sure you have all the relevant information to hand. You’ll need your UCAS personal ID number and results. We may ask you questions about what motivates you for a particular course or why have you chosen Barnsley College Higher Education, so try and think about this before you call.
Don’t be afraid to ask us questions
You can always ask us questions to make sure you fully understand everything that is being said to you. There are no silly questions and our staff are here to help you.
You will be committing to studying here for a number of years, so if you have any burning questions about Barnsley College Higher Education, societies, facilities or courses before you sign on the dotted line, make sure you ask.
Keep an open mind
Decide what the most important thing is for you. This could be the location, finances, or the course itself. You may finally settle for a course that is entirely different to the one you originally applied for but it may work out much better than you expect. Consider all your options, think about courses that are similar to the one you originally applied for, Undergraduate Courses, Foundation Degrees, Higher National Certificates, Higher National Diplomas or Higher or Degree Apprenticeships.
Most importantly be yourself, we want to speak to you! Don’t be shy and make sure you pick up the phone and contact us. We can help you make the right decision.
