Barnsley College is celebrating being a finalist in Training Provider of the Year category at the North Midlands and South Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards.

The awards were held on Tuesday 15 May at the Showroom Cinema and Workstation, Sheffield and celebrate the hard work of the region’s apprentices and training providers.

The College was shortlisted for its innovative approach to promoting and delivering apprenticeships to employers and potential students. The College provides over 80 apprenticeship programmes as well as other business training packages to more than 1,500 businesses across the region.

Christopher Webb, Principal and Chief Executive at Barnsley College, said: “We were delighted to be a finalist in these awards as it recognises the College’s ongoing commitment to the promotion and delivery of apprenticeships. This is a fantastic achievement for our hardworking staff.”

Jamie-Leigh Mitchell, a Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Apprentice won the Barnsley Apprentice of the Year Award at the ceremony.
