Barnsley College has been named as an AoC Beacon Awards finalist after demonstrating a high level of innovation, impact and sustainability.
The College is a finalist in two award categories: the Careers and Enterprise Company Award for Innovation in Careers and Enterprise and the NOCN Award for Mental Health and Wellbeing.
The Careers and Enterprise Company Award for Innovation in Careers and Enterprise celebrates outstanding examples of innovative careers leadership and practice when engaging with schools, employers and other agencies, to provide students with excellent impartial careers education, advice and guidance.
The NOCN Award for Mental Health and Wellbeing celebrates the important work colleges are doing to support the mental health and wellbeing of their students and staff and the sustainability of their work in this area.
Yiannis Koursis, Principal and Chief Executive of Barnsley College, said: “We are delighted to be selected as an AoC Beacon Awards finalist for the work we do on careers, enterprise and mental health and wellbeing. As a College, we place a great deal of emphasis on our work in these key areas, in order to give students the skills to make informed decisions on their future and achieve a healthy mindset.
