Barnsley College student Adam Briscoe is all set to complete a dramatic switch in his educational journey.

Adam, of Yvonne Grove, Wombwell, is in the final stages of his Level 2 Children and Young People’s Workforce course, having previously completed a Construction course at college.

The 24-year-old worked in the construction industry before having a change of heart and deciding to return to the college and pursue a different avenue.

A keen musician, he has used his musical talent to produce songs to develop children’s abilities in reading and rhythm during work placements at Victoria Day Care Centre and the Kabuki Childcare Centre, both in Barnsley, which have been part of his course.

Adam said: “I have loved my course. It has been very good and working with the tutors has been enjoyable. The staff at both the centres where I have completed my work placements have been really helpful and it has been good to learn about using music to suit children’s needs.”

It’s not too late to apply for a Childcare and Education Professions course at Barnsley College. Call 01226 216 123 for more information.
