Although no formal qualification will be achieved you will achieve invaluable experience and be awarded with a Barnsley College certificate.

Course overview

Explore Audio & Learn Industry Level Techniques and Tools…

This course sets out to give people a practical and fun experience working within a professional recording studio. It is suitable for anyone interested in music and recording at any level and ability. The course will cover industry standard recording techniques looking at best practice within the recording studio.

 

Course content

The course will include an introduction to our industry standard, ProTools based, digital recording studios and related music equipment. You will cover:

  • Session setup
  • Connections
  • Signal levels
  • Microphones (Types and microphone positions)
  • Multitrack recording
  • Overdubbing
  • Editing
  • Processing
  • Start of the Mix down

Although this course will not be formally assessed, observations will be used throughout to track progress and to offer additional support.
