This course is due to start on 18 September and will completed by the end of June 2024. Lessons will be on a Monday evening from 6.00pm to 9.00pm.
No requirements other than good customer service skills and an interest in barbering.
You will achieve a Level 2 Barbering VTCT Certificate and Level 3 Certificate in Barbering.
This award is about the precision cutting skills involved in barbering to achieve a variety of looks. You will learn how to use clippers and scissors to learn various cutting techniques.
This qualification builds on existing knowledge and understanding of barbering, to develop an enhanced repertoire of technical skills to prepare learners for employment as a barber in this fast growing industry.

An introductory course must be studied first, with a cost of £40. This fee must be paid by all learners. The Level 2 Barbering course costs £362. Funding may be available for this element depending on your circumstances. Please see the drop-down option below for more details. The Level 3 Barbering course costs £1645. There is no funding available for this course, though you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

You may not have to pay for the Level 2 course if you are employed but earn below £21,255 a year, or if you receive Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit. If you are unemployed, actively seeking employment and receive Council Tax Benefit, House Benefit, Income Support or WFTC then you may also receive funding for this course. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility which will be checked at enrolment.
This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). You must be living in the South or West Yorkshire regions to qualify for funding.
