Barbering Level 2 Diploma Part-time
This course is suitable for those who wish to specialise in barbering. You will gain a thorough understanding of how to effectively deliver barbering services. If you want to have a recognised qualification which may lead to job opportunities in the barbering industry, then this course is for you.
This course has a compulsory six weeks introductory period, from when it starts, that will cover important skills and knowledge necessary for progression during the course.
This is an intensive training programme. You will study the following units:
Health and Safety in the salon
Working in the hair industry
Client consultation for hair services
Shampoo and condition hair and scalp
Promote products/services to clients in a salon
Create an image based on a theme
Cut hair using barbering techniques
Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques
Styling hair
Salon reception duties
Display stock to promote sales in the salon
Colour and lighten hair
You will also be required to participate in compulsory in-house college competitions.

How much does the course cost?
This course will cost £1,035. There may be funding available for this course depending upon circumstances. The introductory period, which must be completed, costs £85. There is no funding available for the introductory period.

Course Content
A genuine interest in pursuing barbering as a career.
You may be required to sit an initial English assessment if you do not already hold an English Language or ESOL qualification.

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.
If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.
If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
