Barbering Level 2 Diploma
This course is suitable for those who wish to specialise in barbering. You will gain a thorough understanding of how to effectively deliver barbering services. If you want to have a recognised qualification which may lead to job opportunities in the barbering industry, then this course is for you.
This course has a compulsory six weeks introductory period, from when it starts, that will cover important skills and knowledge necessary for progression during the course.

You will be required to purchase an essential barbering kit and uniform before starting the course. The kit will cost approximately £355 and the uniform will cost approximately £37. Both can be purchased from the department supplier. The department staff will provide you with details of how you can order if you choose to come and enrol. You may be eligible for financial support to help towards this cost.
You will also need writing stationery.
Further study in Hairdressing e.g. Hairdressing Level 2 or Barbering Level 3.
This course costs £1,035. There may be funding available for this course – please see the ‘Eligibility for Funding’ drop-down below for more details. The introductory period, which must be completed, costs £85. There is no funding available for the introductory period, so all learners must pay this fee.

Part-time courses are only available for learners who are 19 years old and above. You may not have to pay for this course if you are employed but earn below £23,400 a year, or if you are unemployed and receive Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility which will be checked at enrolment.
This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). You must be living in the South or West Yorkshire regions to qualify for funding.
