Bricklaying Level 2 Extended Technical Occupational Entry Diploma Full-time

This course covers building construction principles, masonry structures, and practical tasks like bricklaying and constructing walls, piers, and fireplaces. You will learn to interpret drawings, plan projects, and engage in decorative and reinforced brickwork. Essential employability skills such as teamwork, communication, CV writing, and self-management are also included, which are crucial for future employment.

Full-time Barnsley College students aged 16-18 years old do not have to pay tuition fees.

Course Content

This course is for 16-18 years olds. Successful completion at Level 1 Brickwork Diploma OR, you must hold GCSE English and Maths. One of these qualifications must be a minimum Grade 2 and the other must be a minimum Grade 3.

Throughout the study programme your work will be assessed for a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade. Achieving this Diploma means that you have reached the standards expected by the industry.

Basic stationery for the classroom activities. There are five points of Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in the workshop at all times. Each student is expected to provide their own safety boots and the department will provide the other four pieces: Hi-viz vest Hard hat Eye safety Gloves

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.

If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.

If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
