Start Date / Duration

Online classess via TEAMS will start in August. Live stream will be on Wednesdays from 5.30pm for 1.5 hours with a possibility for Tuesday and Thursday to be looked at. If you miss a class you can watch the catch up. This will also include around 1.5 hours activity/research/assignment writing per week (self study)

Entry requirements

  • There are no formal entry requirements, however, you should have a good level of communication skills.
  • An interest or intention to set up a business would also be desirable

Course overview

The Level 2 Award In Aspects of Preparing to Set Up a New Business allows learners a flexible approach to learning about, and preparing for, self employment.

It is designed for those who think they may wish to start a business at some time in the future and want to complete a short programme of preparatory learning about the key aspects of this activity, without actually starting a business.

Course content

In order to achieve this qualification the learner must complete the 1 mandatory unit and 6 credits from the optional units listed below.

Optional

  • Understand How to Plan for a New Business
  • Understanding Business Relationships in a New Business
  • Principles of Marketing and Selling in a New Business
  • Understanding Finance in a Business Context
  • Understanding Negotiation of Deals in a New Business

You will be assessed by participating in activities that simulate setting up and establishing a business.

 

You will need a device that can access the internet.

You will study online via TEAMS platform. All instructions will be provide prior to classes starting

You can progress onto a related business course.

How much does the course cost?

This course costs £375. You may eligible for funding to cover the cost of this qualification.
