Childcare: Pre-Access (Evening) Level 2 Part-time

Start Date / Duration

This course starts in September, date to be confirmed and will run for 36 weeks. You will attend college Tuesday and Thursday Evenings from 6.00pm until 9.00pm.

Entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements.

You will achieve

Level 2 Certificate in a range of units:

  • Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values
  • Children and Young People’s Mental Health
  • Living in a Fair and Diverse Society
  • Behaviour that challenges
  • Understanding Autism
  • Awareness of Bullying

 

Course overview

This course is designed for those of you aged 18 years and over, who would like to return to education and have a genuine interest in working in the health or childcare sector.  The course will prepare learners to progress to higher-level courses in relevant subject areas.

 

Course content

Modules to be studied are:

  • Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values
  • Children and Young People’s Mental Health
  • Living in a Fair and Diverse Society
  • Behaviour that challenges
  • Understanding Autism
  • Awareness of Bullying

You will also have the opportunity to study Functional Skills, Mathematics and English.

You will be assessed by online course work and exams in English and Maths.

You will need stationery, a USB stick and a folder.
