Your work will be assessed by a qualified and experienced assessor.
This course has various start times throughout the year and will be completed in six months.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course. You do not have to be working in a school setting to complete this qualification.
You will achieve a Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools.
This qualification is an introduction to the information and knowledge needed to work in primary, secondary or special schools.
It covers the many varied roles that full and part time support staff may fulfill including: site support roles, technical roles and volunteers, as well as those roles that work directly with children and young people in the school environment.
The learner must achieve 4 mandatory units at Level 2, plus one of two optional units, which can be taken at Level 2 or Level 3, to make a total of 12 credits.

The course is an E-portfolio using OneFile, access to a computer/laptop and internet will be required.
The Award shares mandatory units with the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools qualification. This provides a direct progression route as any shared units completed can be transferred over and counted towards the Certificate. The Level 2 certificate requires work experience hours.
