This course has various start times throughout the year and will take 12 months to complete.
The Award is suitable for those not yet working in a Level 3 school role but who could achieve at this level. Learners completing the Award do not need to be working.
You will achieve a Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
These qualifications will provide an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children or young people in primary, secondary or special schools. They include learning about children and young people’s development, safeguarding their welfare and communication.
The learner must achieve 4 mandatory Level 3 units, totalling 12 credits. There are no exemptions, barred combinations or equivalent units.

The course is an E-portfolio using OneFile, access to a computer/laptop and internet will be required.
This provides a direct progression route as any shared units completed can be transferred over and counted towards the Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools. You will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement as you need to show competence in both knowledge and skills for the completion of the diploma.
