Complex Needs and Sensory Level 1 Full-time
This program aims to improve independence and employability through skills in cooking, travel, community involvement and work experience. It includes developing your English and Maths skills at an appropriate level, enhancing technology skills and participating in creative and vocational activities. Additionally, tutorial sessions cover healthy living, relationships and online safety, complemented by motivational talks from guest speakers and volunteering opportunities.

How much does the course cost?
Full-time Barnsley College students aged 16-18 years old do not have to pay tuition fees.

Course Content
You must be aged between 18-24 years old and:
Have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
Have 'High Needs' funding for your support agreed by your local authority
Attend an 'interview' with a staff member
Attend taster/transition sessions in the department to help you settle in before you start

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.
If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which can be added to your study programme.
If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
