You will achieve

A Level 4 qualification in Construction and Built Environment that meets the knowledge requirements of the standard and is approved by the Chartered Institute of Building as meeting the educational requirements for Certified Construction Supervisor

Course overview

The main duties and tasks of a Construction Site Supervisor are:

  • Supervision of specialist contractors
  • The control of health and safety standards on construction projects
  • Recording, control and reporting of progress on a construction project
  • The minimisation of the environmental impact of construction projects
  • Control of quality of works on a construction project
  • Assisting commercial staff with the monitoring of costs on a construction project

Course content

You will show competance in the following areas;

  • Leadership and management
  • Communication and customer care
  • Environment and sustainability
  • Planning, programming and logistics
  • Resource management (cost, cash and risk)

•Building a portfolio of evidence
•Answering Written questions
•Observation in the workplace

You will study within the workplace and attend classes at Barnsley College’s Construction Centre, Honeywell Site, Honeywell Lane, Barnsley S75 1DP.

Progression to HND Construction and Project Management or a BSc in a construction discipline

How much does the course cost?

There is no cost to being an apprentice. All costs associated with your apprenticeship, including the cost of training and your salary, will be paid by your employer.
