This course will start on Wednesday 19 April 2023 and last for 10 weeks. You will study on Wednesdays from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. However, knowledge of computers and the internet would be an advantage.

You will achieve

You won’t achieve a formal qualification, but upon completion you will receive a Barnsley College certificate.

Course overview

This course offers you an introduction to two core Adobe Creative Cloud applications: Photoshop and Premiere Pro.

This introductory course will cover the fundamentals of being able to use and navigate this software, teaching you new skills to explore your creativity and introduce you to the digital creative industries.

You will gain entry level skills in both pieces of software to confidently explore new techniques and explore your creativity.

Course content

This course covers various topics such as:

  • Photo editing
  • Photo manipulation
  • Design
  • Video editing
  • Basic animation

Towards the end of the course, you will create a small project demonstrating your new skills in either application.

By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Edit and manipulate images or video for a project
  • Design a project
  • Create a project

This course will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence.

You can study further pathways in either Digital Design, Film or Photography. The course will also serve as entry into the creative digital industry.
