Entry requirements

This 18th Edition course in Electrical Wiring Regulations is aimed at practicing electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals e.g. electrical engineers, maintenance engineers, contract managers, designers, consultants, surveyors or other related trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of IET Wiring Regulations.

It may also be suitable for anyone requiring an understanding of BS 7671, although prior knowledge in basic electrical science will be required.

Who is the course for?

  • This 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations course replaces the 17th Edition course from July 2018 onward.
  • After 31st December 2018 all electrical installations are to comply with BS 7671:2018.
  • It is aimed at practicing electricians with relevant experience and allied professionals needing to update and enhance their understanding of the IET Wiring Regulations.

What does the course cover?

  • The IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) are the definitive standards for the electrical industry in respect of safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems.
  • It is intended to ensure that individuals are conversant with the format, content and application of the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2018

What are some of the key changes? 

  • Protecting against electric shock
  • Protecting against electromagnetic disturbances and voltage disturbance
  • Selection and erection of wiring systems
  • New appendix to 18th Edition on energy efficiency

There will be an exam on the day four of the course.
