This might be to help get on at work (or get a job), prepare for further study, access public services, or just to function more effectively in an English-speaking environment

Assessments and enrolment will take place on a Monday (term time only) between 1pm -5pm

Course content

ESOL learners will develop and improve their language skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

They will encounter topics which are both familiar and relevant to them. Topics include:

  • Personal details/experiences
  • Work
  • Education/training
  • Housing
  • Family and friends
  • Health
  • Transport
  • Weather
  • buying goods
  • Leisure
  • UK society

Distance learning means studying remotely. Using a range of material you’ll undertake course activities and assignments with regular support from your tutor, interacting with fellow students via email, online forums, phone and virtual conferencing.

Assessment is by examination and continuous assessment. Learners have regular meetings with a tutor to discuss progress and to help plan studies.

It would be helpful if you brought some pens, paper to write on and a folder to put your work in.
