Course overview

Our Mansfield Education Hub is a small and supportive College located in Mansfield. We have a passionate team of teaching staff who want to help you grow, achieve and succeed.

We welcome applications throughout the year for young people aged 16 to 24 with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) to join our Foundation Learning Programme.

Course content

In your Level 1 Aim Award in Employability qualification you will learn about:
– Undertaking an enterprise project
– How to be successful
– Equality and Diversity

In your Level 1 Aim Award in Personal and Social Development qualification you will learn about:
– Personal resilience
– Building confidence and self-esteem
– Rights and responsibilities of citizenship

In your RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement) qualification you will learn about:
– Appropriate behaviours
– Self-resilience and confidence
– Staying healthy
– Next steps

You will be assessed via coursework and exams.

All equipment will be provided.

You can progress to employment, Further Education, apprenticeships, traineeships and volunteering.

How much does the course cost?

No cost

16 – 18 year olds

Full-time Barnsley College students aged 16-18 years old do not have to pay tuition fees.

19+ Students

Aged 19 or over and thinking about further education?

You may be eligible for free or reduced course fees . Please refer to our page ‘paying for your course.’

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.

If you are aged 16 – 19 and don’t already have a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths they will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards higher grades in English and Maths we can help you do that too.

Need a higher level Maths qualification? We offer a Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths).

This can be added to your study programme.
